Mrs. Vannie Lee Ashcraft King, age 88, died Friday, June 28 1991 at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 30 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne King and the Rev. David Kendall officiating.
The daughter, of the late William Louis Ashcraft and the late Amelia Franks, she was a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County. A housewife, she was the widow of the late Charles Herman King who died August 9 1961 and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jurel Gambrell and Mrs. Arlette Price, both of Houston and Mrs. Grace Sisk of Shannon; five sons, Louis King, Joe King, Jack King, Billy King and Gene King, all of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Virgie Clark of Shannon; three brothers, Charles Ashcraft of Laponta, Arkansas, bill Ashcraft of Shannon and Milton Ashcraft of Tupelo; 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
