Mada Lou Skidmore, age 95, died in Pasadena, Texas on August 11, 2012. Burial in Davis Cemetery is under the direction of Bailey & Foster. She was born on August 24, 1916 in Grapeland, Texas to the late, George and Maude Smith. Mada Lou was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker who spent a lifetime of caring for her family and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Octa Skidmore; daughter, Sharon Rose Shirley; brothers, John Smith, Irvin Smith, Earl Smith, Clifton Smith, and Lewis Smith; and sisters, Ruth Quinn and Elvira Cook. She is survived by daughters, Virginia Ann McMurtray and husband James, and Sandra Jerris Holloway and husband Rudy; brother, W.D. Smith and wife Francis; sisters, Virginia Wooten and husband John; and Hazel Norman.
