WD Smith died Monday at his residence. He was born July 8, 1922 in Grapeland to George T. and Maude P. Cunningham Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from Union Carbide, he served in the US Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the Church of Christ of Grapeland. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
Pallbearers will be Aric Smith, Jeff Smith, Gerald Smith, Ed Cook, Donald Smith, and Ron Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be all of WD and Frances nephews.
Services for WD Smith age 92 of Grapeland will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Grace Street Church of Christ, in Crockett with Gary Taylor, Allen Sowders and Wayne Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
