She was born Annigje Boxum in March 1884 on the Kuinderdijk (= Kuinder's [River] Dyke) in the neighborhoodship of Baarlo, located in the northwestern part of the Dutch eastern province Overijssel, the last of eleven children of Albert Boxum (40 years old, farmer) and Marrigje ten Napel. She had in the municipality of Ambt Vollenhove the following ten siblings:

On October 10, 1895 the eleven years old Annigje Boxum arrived with her parents and six siblings on the ship The Majestic from Liverpool at the port of New York, Ellis Island. Their destination was Cawker City, located along the north shore of Waconda Lake and Glen Elder State Park, Mitchell County, in the northern part of Kansas.

On February 12, 1908 Anna married at Downs, Kansas, to Harry Voetberg. They had 10 children and lived in the Rock Valley area, Sioux County, Iowa for nearly 45 years.

In May 1910 Anna (26 years old, born in Holland, immigrated in 1895), her husband Harry Voetberg (26, Holland, immigrated in 1896, farmer), and their daughter Hattie (11 months, Kansas) were living on a rented farm in Cawker, Mitchell County, Kansas.

In 1915 Anna (31), her husband Harry Voetberg (31, farmer), his wife and their children Hattie (5), Margret (4, Kansas), Rosie (3, Kansas) and Albertus (1, Kansas) were living still in Cawker [City], Mitchell County, Kansas.

In January 1920 Annie (35, Holland, immigrated in 1894 [has to be: 1895]), her husband Harry Voetberg (36, Holland, immigrated in 1895, farmer), and their children Hattie (10), Margaret (9, Kansas), Rosy (8, Kansas), Albertus (6, Kansas), Ralph (3, Kansas), Johanna (3, Kansas) and Evert John (1, Kansas) were living on a rented farm in Rock Township, Sioux, located in the northwestern part of Iowa.

In April 1930 Annie (46, immigrated in 1895), her husband Harry Voetberg (46, immigrated in 1896, farmer), and their children Margaret (19), Rose (18), Albertus (16), Ralph (13), Johanna (13), Everett (12), Benjaman (8, Iowa) and Helen M (3, South Dakota) were living on a rented farm in Center Township, Aurora County, located in the southeastern part of South Dakota.

In April 1940 Anna (56), her husband Harry Voetberg (56, road construction laborer), and their daughter Helen Voetberg (13, South Dakota) were living in a rented house in the city of Rock Valley, Sioux County, located in the northwestern part of Iowa. In 1935 they lived at a rural place in Sioux County, Iowa.

In December 1951 her husband Harry Voetberg died at the age of 68 years in Rock Valley, Sioux County, Iowa. Anna died in December 1965 at the age of 81 years at the Sioux Center hospital, Iowa.
