Mrs. John Overweg, 71, of Rock Valley, died June 25 at her residence of a long illness.
Services were held June 28 at the Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center with The Rev. John Hoekstra officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley.
Mrs. Overweg, the former Hattie Voetberg, was born June 8, 1909, at Downs, Kansas.
She was married May 13, 1931, at Stickney, South Dakota. Mr. Overweg died July 24, 1975.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis of Rock Valley, John of Modesto, California, and Donald of Zeeland, Michigan; three daughters. Mrs. John Hilt of Canton, Mrs. John Vande Kieft of Maurice and Mrs. Darwin Kots of Salida, California.
Also two brothers, Bert of Rock Valley and Ralph of Grandville, Michigan, and three sisters, Mrs. Gradus Overweg of New Holland, South Dakota, Mrs. John Feenstra of Lynden, Washington, and Mrs. Peter Boer of Rock Valley. Also 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
