Harry was born Hielke Voetberg (= Foot Mountain) in October 1883 in the small country village of Doniaga, located in the southwestern part of the Dutch northern province Friesland, son of Roelof Voetberg (46 years old, cattle farmer) and Hielkje(n) Johannes Visser. On April 27, 1896 Hielke Voetberg (12 years old), his father Roelof Voetberg (59, farmer), mother Hieltje 53, siblings Siementje (22), Aafje (21, died during the ship voyage), Vemmigje (19) and Eise (17) arrived on the S.S. Zaandam from Amsterdam at the port of New York, Ellis Isand. Their last residence place in the Netherlands was the country village of Sonnega, located in the southern part of the northern province Friesland.

On February 12, 1908 Harry Voetberg married Anna Boxum, who had Dutch parents too, at the small city of Downs, Osborne County, located in the northern part of Kansas. They had 10 children and lived in the Rock Valley area, Sioux County, located in the northwestern part of Iowa for nearly 45 years.

In May 1910 Harry Voetberg (26 years old, born in Holland, immigrated in 1896, farmer), his wife Anna (26, Holland, immigrated in 1895), and their daughter Hattie (11 months, Kansas) were living on a rented farm in Cawker [City], Mitchell County, Kansas.

In 1915 Harry Voetberg (31, farmer), his wife Anna (31), and their children Hattie (5), Margret (4, Kansas), Rosie (3, Kansas) and Albertus (1, Kansas) were living still in Cawker [City], Mitchell County, Kansas.

On September 12, 1918 the 32 years old farmer Harry Voetberg and his wife Anna were living in Cawker City, Mitchell County, located in the northern part of Kansas, when he was administrated on a WW I Draft Registration Card. He was of medium height and build, had blue eyes and brown hair.

In January 1920 Harry Voetberg (36, immigrated in 1895, farmer), his wife Annie (35, immigrated in 1894 [has to be: 1895]), and their children Hattie (10, Kansas), Margaret (9, Kansas), Rosy (8, Kansas), Albertus (6, Kansas), Ralph (3, Kansas), Johanna (3, Kansas) and Evert John (1, Kansas) were living on a rented farm in Rock Township, Sioux County, located in the northwestern part of Iowa.

In April 1930 Harry Voetberg (46, immigrated in 1896, farmer), his wife Annie (46, immigrated in 1895), and their children Margaret (19), Rose (18), Albertus (16), Ralph (13), Johanna (13), Everett (12), Benjaman (8, Iowa) and Helen M (3, South Dakota) were living on a rented farm in Center Township, Aurora County, located in the southeastern part of South Dakota.

In April 1940 Harry Voetberg (56, road construction laborer), his wife Anna (56), and their daughter Helen Voetberg (13, South Dakota) were living in a rented house in the city of Rock Valley, Sioux County, located in the northwestern part of Iowa. In 1935 they lived at a rural place in Sioux County, Iowa.

Harry Voetberg died in December 1951 at the age of 68 years in Rock Valley, Sioux County, Iowa. His widow Anna died in December 1965 at the age of 81 years at the Sioux Center hospital, Iowa.
