Robert Reed was the fourth son born to parents Jacob and Elizabeth Fauver Schellinger, of Bridgeton, Cumberland, New Jersey. He married Elizabeth "Lizzy" Jaquette, daughter of Peter and Mary Ann Bacon Jaquette of Cumberland, NJ on 13 May 1874 in Cumberland, NJ. Robert and Lizzy had six children which are listed below. They removed from NJ to Illinois and then to IN and spent almost ten years there, until Robert Reed's untimely death from consumption in 1897. His family remained in IN for many years before their final move to Tacoma, Pierce, WA, where, with the exception of Lawrence, all spent the remainer of their lives.
