He is survived by his four children, Jonathan Eric Lyerly, Ron Lyerly, Chris Lyerly and Jondette Wade Long. Mr. Lyerly was blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He especially was grateful for the love, affection and friendship of Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts, of Mooresville. Mr. Jonathan Lyerly was a Technical Sergeant 329th Army Air Forces enlisted in 1940 and given an honorable discharge in 1945. His decorations and citations are as follows: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with one Bronze Service Star, and Eamet Campaign Medal with five Bronze Service Stars. Mr. Jonathan Lyerly fought in World War II in the following campaigns: Rome-Arno, India, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples and Foggia.
