THOMASVILLE - Treva E. (Albright) Werner, 90, died at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2004, at Manor Care North in York. She was the wife of Charles S. Werner who died December 25, 1995.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Church in Glenville with her pastor, the Rev. Jason A. Leader officiating. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Irwin Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove is coordinating the arrangements.
Born December 30, 1913, in Manheim Township, York County, she was a daughter of the late Ira M. and Annie S. (Fuhrman) Albright.
Mrs. Werner was an elementary school teacher at York New Salem Elementary School. She was a life long member of St. Jacob's (Stone) United Church of Christ congregation in Glenville. In 1931 she graduated from Codorus Township High School and received her teaching degree from Shippensburg State Normal School in 1933. Mrs. Werner was instrumental in helping to establish the Margaret E. Moul Cerebral Palsy Home in York.
Mrs. Werner leaves two sons, Charles W. Werner of Bloomsburg and Thomas P. Werner of York Springs; a daughter, Leah E. Werner at the Margaret E. Moul Home in York; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lottie A. Senft of Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by a son, David E. Werner who died in 1949.
