I want to thank Bill Murray for finding my Great Grandmother, her children and parents. Going to the church cemetery and taking pictures and sending to me. He continued to stay in touch and we have become friends. There are some wonderful people in this world. I have met many of them.





My Great Grandmother Gillespie

Josephine Texas was born to Solomon Gillespie and Elizabeth Pierce-Gillespie in 1860. Sisters, Marietta, Nancy, Cass, Vesta, Julie, Mahulda. She also had 4 half sisters and 1 half brother. She married Henry Calhoun Gillespie in Franklin County in 1878. Mother of: Lou Gillespie, Infant Son Gillespie, Cora Gillespie, Zora Gillespie, Maude Gillespie-Gaydon, Jones Onest Gillespie and Mamie Gillespie- Melton. She died when her children were small, they were raised by the oldest daughter Cora and a Step Mother, Lola Gillespie.
