Fannie de Boom
January 28, 1909--May 13, 1995

Fannie de Boom, 86, of Sioux Center, died Saturday, May 13, at Hawarden Community Hospital. Funeral services were Monday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, the Rev. Robert Drenton officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

De Boom was born on January 28, 1909, in rural Maurice, the daughter of Sam and Julia (Roghair) Altena. She married Tony de Boom on February 25, 1930. The couple farmed near Ireton and Maurice. They retired in 1968 and moved to Sioux Center. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Conard and Adelyn of Ireton, Stanley and Wilma of Marcus and Norman and Sherry of Sioux Center; a daughter and her husband, Juleen and Henry Hofland of Sanborn; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; 10 brothers and sisters and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Terry, Tom, Brian, Brent and Jason de Boom and Jay Hofland.
