On June 28, 1944, he joined the Marines and saw acton at Okinawa, Ryukyu and other Pacific areas. He married Donna Mae Achtemeier on December 14, 1947 and they had three daughters, Vicki, LaTonne and Dawn. Bud was one of seven children in the family. He was preceded in death by this parents and by two brothers and his sister, who died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Vicki (Vaughn) Hinrichs of Carleton, LaTonne Bedlan of Lincoln and Dawn (Matt)Swantek of Fargo, ND
