Obituary taken from "The Banner Journal," p. 5, 6 Jul 1932:

Death of Mrs. Clara Jay

Mrs. Clara Jay passed away on Friday, July 1st, 1932, in the Milwaukee hospital at Milwaukee, where she went to have a goiter removed. Only the cords were cut when she passed away, and the goiter was not even removed.

Mrs. Jay was born at Knapp, Wis., on Nov. 4, 1876. She and Mr. Jay have been married for 38 years, and have resided here for 14 years. She was the mother of five children; Bert Jay, of Waukesha; Mrs. Sadie Lambert, of St. Paul; Alfred Jay, of Millston; and Mary and Florence , at home. She leave six sisters; Mrs. Otto Premo; Mrs. Louis Lesperance, and Mrs. Guy Wallworth, all of Ashland; Mrs. Amy Fifer of Beloit, and Mrs. C. Brazel and Mrs. Allie Laib, both of Beloit. One grandson also survives, and two brothers, John Walworth and Paul Walworth, of Stuttgart, Arkansas; and hosts of friends who deeply sympathize with the family.

The funeral was held in the church at Warrens, Sunday afternoon. There were many beautiful flowers, tributes of love and respect.
The body was laid to rest in the Warren Cemetery. The family has
the sympathy of their friends in this community.

I cannot say, and will not say
That she is dead, she just away.

With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand
She had wandered into an unknown land.

And you. o you, who the wildest yearn
For the old time step and the glad return.

Think of her faring on as dear
In the love of theres as the love of here.

Think of her still as the same say,
She is not dead, she is just away.
And left us dreaming how very fair
