Badger State Journal, Black River Falls, BR7, Thursday, 7 Sept. 1922:

Word was received yesterday that Charles Walworth passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kate Lesperance
at Ashland, Sept 3rd, 1922, of diabetis, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 6 days. He had been ailing for the past two or three years, but was able to travel about and visit with his children. He had been at Ashland since sometime in April. Mr. Walworth was born at Manchester, England, October 28th, 1843. He came to America when he was about twenty years of age and worked about in various places until he came to Knapp about fifty years ago, and settled on his farm there.

He was married to Miss Elnora McNutt in August, 1874. They were among the oldest settlers in that community. To them were born nine children, three sons and six daughters, all of whom are living. They are: John and Paul living in
Arkansaw, Guy, Mrs. Kate Lesperance and Mrs. Maud Premo all of Ashland, Mrs. Victoria Brazel at LaCrosse, Mrs. Allie Laib at Beloit, and Mrs. Clara Jay and Mrs. Amy Fifer of this place.

Mrs. Walworth passed to the great beyond on Sept 1st 1900. Mr. Walworth resided on the farm with some of his
children until they made homes of their own. He sold the farm about five years ago since then he made his home with
different one of his children. He had been to Texas and Arkansaw and other places.

Mr. Walworth was highly respected by all whom knew him. Everybody was his friend. His was a noble christian character. He was a good kind neighbor, ever ready to do all he could for others. His body will be brought home and laid to rest by (the side of his wife - missing verbage). The body is expected to arrive tonight. The funeral will be held in the church at Knapp Wednesday after noon.

His children have the sympathy of their many friends in this community.
