Sam Schwindt, son of Henry and Katherine Schwindt, was born on a farm near Bison on Jan. 3, 1890, and died at the LaCrosse Hospital June 26, 1958, at the age of 68 years, five months and 23 days.

He married Elizabeth Appel on Dec. 19, 1909 and five children were born to the union. The family made their home on a farm northeast of Bison. His wife, one daughter, Leona, his parents, two sisters and two brothers, preceded him in death.

In 1942 he sold his farm and moved to Bison, where he resided until his death.

Survivors include one son, Leon, Lodi, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Velma) Kober, Mrs. Lee (Leola) Shank, both of Bison and Mrs. Rudy (Louella) Reissig, Great Bend; three sons-in-law, three granddaughters, Carole Reissig, Judy Kober and Deanne Shank; and three grandsons, Dennis Shank, Duane Shank, and Rudy Reissig, Jr.

Funeral services were held from the Bison Methodist Church Saturday morning, June 28, Rev. L. R. Henderick and Rev. Richard Hardesty officiating. Burial was in the Bison Baptist Church (Cemetery).
