Curtin (went by Curt) R. Rothrock was the fifth of nine known children of Isaac N. Rothrock (1830-1904) and Mary Ann Shimmel Rothrock (1829-1908), who married c1853 in presumably Pennsylvania.

Curt married Susannah (went by Susan) Sarah (or was she Sarah Susannah (Ann)?) Smeal (1870-1931) on 25 Mar 1885 at Graham Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Curt and Susan were the parents of thirteen known children, namely:

1. Howard Wesley Rothrock (1886-1962)
2. Carrie May Rothrock Fleck (1887-1912)
3. Maude Ellen Rothrock Fishburn Ellinger (1889-1968)
4. Edward Curtin Rothrock (1892-1967)
5. Margaret Alice Rothrock Tiedgen (1894-1960)
6. Sarah Edna Rothrock Keenan (1896-1980)
7. Orvis (Jake) Leonard Rothrock (1898-1935)
