Julian Baggerly was known as a vocalist, performing in many operas and for many occasions. He lived at Waverly for many years before moving to Springfield, where he was an accountant for the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

May 2, 1971
Julian Baggerly, 53, of 49 Wedgewood Terrace, formerly of Waverly, died at 10 a.m. Sunday at Memorial hospital.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Neece Funeral Home at Waverly with burial in Waverly cemetery.
He was employed as an accountant with the state superintendent of public instruction's office.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rose Baggerly of Waverly; and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Berndt of Waverly, Mrs. Iona Fishback of Springfield, Mrs. Grace Garrison of Burlington, Iowa, and Mrs. Frances Livingston of Beardstown.
