"Donald L. Haddox, 57, former Webster City resident, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at his home in Des Moines. He had been in ill health the past five years, but his death was sudden, being attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with burial in the Graceland cemetery.
Donald Linville Haddox, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Haddox, was born Aug. 22, 1903, at Webster City. He attended the Webster City schools, and graduated with the class of 1924. He was employed at the Hahne Printing Co. until 1926, when he entered the Navy. He served with the Navy for several years, then made his home in Denver, Colo., where he studied law at Denver university.
Mr. Haddox entered service in World War II in 1942 and served as a pharmacist mate, first class, in the South Pacific war theater. He was discharged in 1945, and returned to Denver where he owned and operated an oil station. In August, 1955, he was united in marriage to Carol Brandup Price, and since their marriage they had made their home in Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife; one son, James Haddox, by a former marriage; four sisters, Mrs. E. T. Carlson, Williams Bay, Wis., Mrs. Giles Crosse, Fairborn, Ohio, Mrs. J. R. Piper, Piqua, Ohio, and Mrs. G. A. Freet, Portland, Ore., and one brother, Bernard M. Haddox of San Diego, Calif.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and one sister.
Mr. Haddox was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Des Moines."
He was listed as a student in the 1925 Omaha, NE city directory along with his mother Hattie Haddox and sister Wanda Haddox.
