William Henry Hopkins was a Civil War Veteran, worked as a bridge gang foreman for the Chicago & North Western RR, died Sep. 10, 1911 and is buried in Odebolt Cemetery, Odebolt, Sac Co., Iowa as is his wife Kate Moore who died in 1924.

Hattie married Jacob "Jay" Linville Haddox, Jan. 31, 1886 in Boone Co., IA. The photo (@1908) above shows Hattie in front of the house her husband Jay L. Haddox built in 1890 for her and their 10 children. She was a visiting nurse on horseback and was quite a skilled rider. The house still stands today, although quite altered, at 739 Ohio St. across from Graceland Cemetery where Hattie and her first husband Jay L. Haddox are buried. Hattie married James Henry Humbert 1854-1930, a baker, April 27, 1916 at Woodbury, IA and they lived for a time in Odebolt, Sac Co., IA near her widowed mother, Kate Moore Hopkins, while operating H & H Bakery.
Hattie and Jay had 10 children:
