His middle name was listed as Henry in the 1910 U.S. Census, but his registration cards for WWI & WWII both said McHenry.

He was married 3 times. First wife Carrie Omara b1881 MO, daughter of Thomas & Azza Roberts Omara, lived in Sioux City, Woodbury Co., IA in 1915 and was divorced from Arthur Darveau 1872-1926. Bernard & Carrie were married in 1919 NE and divorced in 1922 in Woodbury, IA. Second wife was named Fay b1890 Ohio and they lived in El Paso, TX. Third wife was Louise and they lived on Point Loma in San Diego, CA.

Biological father of twins Bernard Jay Joyce and Barbara Jean Joyce born 1932 to Laura (Pickering) Joyce of Syracuse, NY.

Bernard Haddox had a very interesting life. He survived 5 serious car accidents and was also seriously injured in a fall from a ladder while employed as a roofer. He had many different jobs and moved many times. He even ran away to join the circus at age 14 and his parents placed ads in the Iowa local papers as well as the Minneapolis, MN newspaper looking for him, asking for his safe return.
