Mrs. Ina Bird Passes Away, Mendon (Special)— Mrs. Ina Sorensen Bird, 40 wife of Clarence P. Bird, died Monday at her home here. Funeral services will be held in the Mendon ward chapel Friday at 2 p.m. Mrs. Bird was born in Mendon May 22nd, 1888, the daughter of Isaac and Mary (Jacobsen) Poulsen Sorensen. She was educated in the Mendon public schools and spent her early life here. She was married to Clarence P. Bird of Mendon and shortly after, the couple moved to a farm near Pocatello, where they lived for three years. Then they returned to Mendon, where they have since resided. Mrs. Bird has been an active church worker in Mendon since her marriage. Mrs. Bird is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mildred, ten, her mother and the following brothers and sisters: William I. Sorensen, Joseph C. Sorensen, Bishop Henry C. Sorensen, Mrs. Hannah Whitney, Mrs. Olive Hughes, all of Mendon; Professor A.N. Sorensen, Logan; Bertha Sorensen Buist, Wellsville; Mrs. Malina Hill, Murray; Mrs. Eulalia Welch, Boise. ~Newspaper Not Listed.

Mendon Matron is Laid at Final Rest, Mendon, Utah— Impressive funeral services for Mrs. Clarence Bird, were held in the ward chapel Friday at two p.m. under the direction of Counselor Oliver Taylor. The house was filled. Floral offerings were profuse and beautiful, showing the love and esteem in which the deceased was held. The choir furnished music under the direction of Mrs. Lizzie Barrett with Mrs. Ellen Ladle at the organ. Prayers were by Vance D. Walker of Salt Lake City and Counselor Elmer J. Hancock. The speakers were Patriarch William H. Maughan of Wellsville, former Bishop Mormon D. Bird, Joseph N. Sorensen, John Gardner of Ogden and Counselor Taylor. All spoke of the faithfulness of Mrs. Bird. Special music was vocal solo, Mrs. Mattie Darley with Mrs. Howard Jones as accompanist, of Wellsville; vocal solo, John O. Hughes, Violet Bird accompanist; instrumental duet, G.G. Sweeten and Lon Wood, with Miss Orpha Sweeten of U.A.C. accompanist. A large cortege followed the body to the cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Andrew Sorensen. Mrs. Bird will be missed at Sunday school, Sacrament meeting, Relief Society, being a faithful Relief Society teacher for years. Her beautiful alto voice will be greatly missed in the choir. Out of town visitors attending the funeral include Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Sorensen, Logan; Mrs. Jack Welch, Boise Idaho; Mrs. Malena Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Vance D. Walker, Mrs. Hazel Bird and Mrs. Phil Sorensen, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Fern Bird Teton, Idaho. ~Newspaper Not Listed.
