Clarence Perly Bird
Mendon, Utah— Clarence P. Bird, 81 died Wednesday, apparently of a heart attack. He was born March 8th, 1887, a son of Mormon and Elizabeth Gardner Bird, in Mendon. He married Ina Sorensen on March 8th, 1916, in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. She died in March of 1929. He later married Ruth L. Humphrey, August 6th, 1930. He was a retired farmer. For seven years he had worked at Second Street. He was a member of Mendon Ward. In his earlier life he had been a home missionary. Surviving are his widow of Mendon; a daughter Mildred Bird, Logan; William P. Humphrey, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Arch (Delores) Geddes and Clarence Lee Bird, Preston; Mrs. Orlando (Ann) Rasmussen, Clinton; eleven grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters survive, Earl and Cyril Bird, both of Brigham City; Mrs. Hazel Heath, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Erma Brewington, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Lucille Hillyard, Logan. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12 noon in the Mendon L.D.S. Ward Chapel by Bishop Zeno Andersen. Friends may call at Hall Mortuary in Logan Friday from seven to nine p.m. and on Saturday at the Mendon Chapel one hour prior to service.
