Mrs. Addie Owens Dies Following Weeks Illness
The many friends of Mrs. Addie Owen are saddened to learn of her death which came at 1 a. m., Aug. 22, after an illness of a little more than a week.
Addie Owen, daughter of Isaac T and Lottie Ralston, was born at Callao, Mo.. July 31, 1863. She was married to Dr. Thomas F. Owen May 5, 1886, and to this union two sons were born, Thomas T., of the home and William of Weslaco, Tex Dr. Owen died in 1898. Besides the sons and the host of relatives and friends who are grieved at the passing of this good woman, she leaves a twin sister, Mrs. O. C. Newby, of Son Diego, Calif., another sister, Mrs. G. W. Chinn, of Boise, Idaho, and a brother, Jas. T. Ralston, of Breckenridge, Mo.
Mrs. Owen united with the Christian Church early in life and has been an active and faithful member through all the years. She will be missed especially in her Sunday School group where she was such a regular attendant and interested worker. Mrs. Owens life was an inspiration to her friends and loved ones because of her cheery, happy disposition and her Christian faith. The sweetness of her life will always linger in the memory of her friends and loved ones.
Funeral services for Mr. Owen will be held at the First Christian Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. L. Shoemaker. Burial will be made in Oakwood cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Stephens Goodding Funeral Home until the funeral hour.
