Mr. Boyers had been in ill health for the past year and was admitted to the hospital last Sunday.
He was born in Harrisonburg, the son of the late Layton Boyers and Berdie Glover Boyers. He was employed by the York Corp of Borg-Warner for the past, 17 years and was a member of the Hanover Church of the Brethren. He was also a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose in McSherystown, Pa., the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hanover and the Hanover Home Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel Diehl Boyers; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Caves and Mrs. Gladys Glenn, both of Springfield, Ohio: and Mrs. Kathleen Hombach, of McSherystown, Pa. and four brothers; George W. Boyers, Harrisonburg; Ralph Boyers, of Staunton, Charles Boyers, of Hanover; and Howard C. Boyers, Sr., of Hanover.
His body will be brought to the Lindsey Funeral Home early Monday morning and will remain here until Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. when it will be taken to the Harrisonburg Church of the Brethren where the funeral services will be held at two o'clock. Dr. Robert L. Sherfly and the Rev. G. E. Kinsel will conduct the services and burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery.
The members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 until nine o'clock Monday evening.
