Kathleen B. Smith, 87, of McSherrystown, died Monday, March 4, at Hanover Hospital. Born May 17, 1914 in Harrisonburg, Va., she was a daughter of the late W. Layton and Bertie Glovier Boyers. She was predeceased by husbands, Paul Wheeler Sr.; Clair Hombach and Harold "Bubbles" Smith.
She was retired from the former Sylvania Shoe Company in McSherrystown. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, McSherrystown; and the McSherrystown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Paul Wheeler Jr. of Hanover; a daughter, Joyce Greenholt of Lancaster; a stepson, Allen Smith of Hanover; ten grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and five step- great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Ann Boyers; and also five brothers and two sisters.
