RATLIFF CITY —Danny Boye Barnett, age 64, passed away June 2, 2012, in Ardmore, Okla. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Ratliff City Cemetery, Ratliff City, Okla.
Danny was born on November 4, 1947, in Duncan, Okla., to Exie Clarence Barnett and Gladys Faye (Scott) Barnett. He married Oleta Jean Pickelsimer on June 14, 1977, in Gainesville, Texas. He graduated from Fox High School in 1966. Danny enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge then went to work in the oil fields in Las Vegas, Nev. He later went to work for the District 2 Carter County for 23 years as a heavy equipment operator grading the county roads. Danny worked at Lake Murray in the parks and tourism for the State of Oklahoma until his retirement. Danny also volunteered as a mentor at the Thunderbird Youth Academy in Pryor, Okla. Danny was devoted to the Masons of the Lone Grove Masonic Lodge No. 25 serving as past Worshipful Master and Secretary of the Lodge and the Medal of Honor Winner 2012. He also belonged to the Order of Amaranth and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a past Worthy Patron, Advisor for Job's Daughters and Demolays and the Scottish Rite KCCH.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Exie Barnett Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Oleta Barnett of Wilson, Okla.; brother, Derrell of Lone Grove, Okla.; sisters, Virginia Dorson of Lone Grove and Barbara Smart of Ardmore; and several nieces and nephews.
