RATLIFF CITY — Graveside services for Barbara Ann (Barnett) Smart, 63, of Ardmore are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at the Ratliff City Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Smart officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Barbara Ann (Barnett) Smart was born Nov. 19, 1950, at Duncan, Okla., to Exie Clarence Barnett and Gladys Faye (Scott) Barnett. She passed from this life Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at her home in Ardmore. Barbara was raised in Fox graduating high school there in 1969. She married the love of her life Marion Charles Smart Aug. 15, 1969, at Ardmore. They made their home in Ardmore. To this union two children were born, Larry and Amanda whom she devoted her life to. Barbara was a devoted homemaker and Nany to her seven grandchildren. She was an avid crafter, she had a booth at the Arts and Craft Fair at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum for over 30 years. When she was not crafting, she spent her time attending her grandchildren’s activities and cheering for her favorite NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Exie and Gladys Barnett; and brothers, Danny Barnett and Exie (JuJu) Barnett Jr. She is survived by her husband, Charles Smart of the home; son, Larry Smart and wife, Kari of Ardmore; daughter, Amanda Hankins and husband, John of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Brenen Hankins and wife, Becky, Breana Hankins, Jessica Hankins, Jarrett Hankins, Jace Smart and Colton Smart; brother, Derrell Barnett of Lone Grove; sister, Virginia Dorson of Lone Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. Pallbearers are Ray Smart, Robert Butler, Brent Barnett, Tra Milburn, Stephen Hankins, Austin Barnes and Lonnie Colville. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 this evening at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Condolences may be shared at www.alexanderfuneralhome.org.
