RATLIFF CITY -- Graveside services for Gladys Faye Barnett Perkins, 79, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Ratliff City Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Lemley officiating.
Born on June 13, 1927, in Ryan, Okla., to Frank Davis Scott and Anna Lee Reynolds Scott, she died on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at her Lone Grove residence. She was preceded in death by a son, Exie Barnett Jr., on June 6, 1999; her parents; four brothers; two sisters, and a great-grandson, Aaron Jordan.
Gladys attended school at Dundee and Fox and in her adult life, was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was a life-member of Lone Grove Eastern Star Chapter 484 and served as past worthy matron. Gladys will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dorson, and Barbara Smart and husband, Charlie, all of Lone Grove; two sons, Darrell Barnett and Diane Bobbitt, Seattle, and Danny Barnett and wife, Oleta, Wilson; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Barnett, Salina; brother, Wayne Scott and wife, Maudine, Hastings; a goddaughter, Pam Milburn and husband, Bobby, Lone Grove; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Ideal Home Health, Cross Timbers Hospice, and Dr. Joe Hamill for their kind and gentle care.
Family members will serve as bearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Alexander Funeral Home, Wilson.
