"The town of Glover met with a great loss in the sudden death, February 14 of Cromwell P. Bean, one of the town's most useful and influential citizens. He was born in Glover April 4, 1846, and was educated in the public schools and the Orleans Liberal Institute. For many years he carried on the old homestead but for the past 20 years he has lived in Glover village. He was an extensive breeder of Morgan and Wilkes horses and Hereford cattle. He was honored by his town with nearly every office and represented Glover in the legislature in 1882. He was a member of the Masonic order. In religious belief he was a Universalist and was a member and officer of the Community church in which he was very much interested. The funeral services were held at his late residence Wednesday, February 16, and was attended by a large number of friends and townsmen. The services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. John Kimball. He leaves a widow, who was Miss Alpha Emory,of West Burke, to whom he was married December 22, 1867. His only son, Carl W,. lives on the old homestead. Mr. Bean also leaves four grandchildren and one great-grandchild." (Orleans County Monitor, February 23, 1921)
