Mrs. Eliza Bean Dwinell died Thursday morning, July 30th after an illness of many weeks. Eliza M. Bean was born in Glover, Sept. 20th, 1835, the daughter of Amos and Phila E. Bean She was educated at Orleans Liberal Institute from which she graduated in 1853. She taught in the public schools for several terms and on Oct. 9th, 1856, was married to J. E. Dwinell of Glover and commenced her married life in the house where she died and which for so many years has been her home. Of the seven children born to them Phila, Harley and Dan died in childhood. Alice E., who became the wife of Henry Cutler, died in young womanhood; of the three now living, Dr. Fred E. and Mrs. Edith McDowell reside in Lyndonville and Harley J., a druggist in Maynard, Mass. She was a faithful member of the Universalist church and Ladies' Mite society of Glover, an active member of the W. C. T .U. and Woman's Suffrage association. She was a true home-maker and her home and family always came first, but being a natural scholar she was ever seeking to imbue her mind with the best books of the day and took a four years' course in the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific circle from which she received a diploma in 1891. She was ever ready and willing to help in any good cause and the needy and suffering were never forgotten. Besides the children mentioned, she leaves four grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters, besides many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Many will miss the smile and good cheer her presence always brought but she leaves a heritage of kind, deeds as a memoir of her past life which will be an everlasting monument to her name. The funeral services were at her home Saturday at 2 p. m., Rev. Simmons, pastor of the Universalist church at Lyndonville, officiating and the interment at Glover cemetery.
