Son of Robert Orsen and Emily Bertha Hunt Bishop. 7th of 19 children born to this family (5 died as children).

Albert married Margaret Tracey Preston on 19 September, 1908 in Winter Quarters, Carbon, Utah. They were the parents of nine children: Emma Jane, Joseph John, Arthur George, Rhoda Mary, Winona, Adora Mae, Marcella, Albert Orsen, Jr., and Velda.
