Born in Herringstone, Charminster, Dorset, England, the son of Joseph & Mary Hancock or (Hansford) Bishop. He married Emily Bertha Hunt in May 25, 1875 in Glamorgan, Wales, she preceded him in death. Robert resided in Sunnyside, Utah and worked as a coal miner. He died at home of heart and kidney disease at age 76 years, 5 months & 25 days.
