He was born April 25, 1919 in Alpine, Utah, to John and Olive Marsh Devey. He married Ella Naomi Avery February 18, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a veteran of WWII, and worked as a cabinet maker. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church, served in the Bishopric, on the High Council, as a Sunday School Teacher and a Temple Worker. He had served a fulltime mission and five Stake Missions with his wife.Survived by his wife of American Fork; three sons and two daughters, Erma Marie Devey, Robert Wayne Devey, both of California; James A. Kirkwood, Alan D. Kirkwood, both of Salt Lake; Mrs. Craig (Marian) Wagner, American Fork; 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; six sisters and a brother. Preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. in the American Fork 5th Ward, 380 South 300 East. Friends may call at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW, District 4.
