BENJAMIN FRANKLIN STANTON
Benjamin Franklin Stanton, son of Jonathan and Lucy Stanton, was born at Rochelle, Illinois, October 11, 1869 and passed away September 21, 1946 at the Creston Hospital, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 10 days.
He was married to Irene Lola Ewart, February 6, 1895. To this union five children were born. Jonathan, who died in infancy in March 1895; Ira H. of Levy, Arkansas; Arch D. of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Edyth Wilhelm of Bosworth, Missouri; Mrs. Edna Phillips of Chicago.
Mr. Stanton united with the Methodist Church at Guss in 1912. He lived man-years near Elliott, Iowa; the last 15 years he resided in Taylor and Adas County. For the past three years, he lived at the Den Leonard Home. Recently he lived a month at the home of Mrs. Pearl Johnson at Murray. His wife preceded him in death five years ago He leaves to mourn his passing his four children, one brother, Ed Stanton at Villisca, Iowa and 7 grandchildren, besides a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 23, 1946 at the Boyd Roland Funeral Home at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. V. A. Bloomquist. Music was by Mrs. Russell Roland and John Riegel, accompanied by Mrs. Lyle Poston. Pall bearers were Peter Sheridan, Chas. Darrah, Art Leonard, ill Carothers, Chas Lamboley and Francis McNuelty. Interment ws made in Prairie Rose Cemetery.
