John Vos passed away at his home in Boyden at the age of 56 years, five months and 3 days.
He was born Dec. 12, 1881, Marion County, Pella, Iowa. He was the oldest son of Peter and Maggie Vos of Hospers.
He was united in marriage to Dena Kastein Feb. 10, 1905. Six children were born to this union: Peter of Ashton, Eva Mrs. (John Kroese) of Sheldon, John of Boyden, Magdeline (Mrs. Alden Mulder) of Sheldon, Gertrude (Mrs. Cornie Van Dyke) of Lester and Gerald at home.
He also leaves to mourn, his three brothers and two sisters: Martin Vos of Sibley, Henry Vos of Hospers, Peter Vos of Sheldon, Mrs. Will Kastein of Hospers, Mrs. Niel Botherhoek of Hospers, and one sister preceded him in death, Mrs. Clarence Ottens of Sibley.
Mr. and Mrs. John Vos have lived in Boyden for the last five years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday. May 19 at one p.m. at the resident and one-thirty at the First Reformed Church at Boyden. The Rev. G. Vis officiating. Interment will be made at the Hospers cemetery.
