Mrs. Kastein was born in Sioux County near Hospers April 8, 1884. She resided in this area all her life except in two years spent in Corsica, S. Dak. She was married at her home near Hospers to William Kastein who preceded her in death.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Vander Wilt, Mae, of Hospers, Mrs. Ethel Langstraat of Sioux Center and two sons, Gerhard of Hospers and Peter of Steen, Minn. Fifteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
