MATTINGLY, TERESA RUTH CECIL, 83, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2012. She joined her husband of 53 years, Thomas Gatton Mattingly to walk hand in hand for eternity. She was a member of St. Thomas More Parrish, St Thomas More Golden Age Club and Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Stroke and Spouse Clubs. She worked many years for Philip Morris and Whittenberg Engineering. Mrs. Mattingly is survived by her children, Carolyn Mattingly Newton (Jim), Gerald Mattingly (Joy), Michael Mattingly (Sherry), Gary Mattingly (Vickie) and Deborah Mattingly Weston (Dave); 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sisters, Frances Elder, Margaret Blandford and Barbara Jean Drury. Grandma Ruth was truly the Mattingly's Matriarch. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by all of her large and loving family. Her celebration of life Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. Third St. with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Friday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
