Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the J. R. Shulenberger funeral home in Carlisle for John M. Bear, 79, of Dickinson township, Carlisle R.R.5, who died Saturday afternoon at his home. Burial was in Westminster cemetery.
Mr. Bear was the son of the late Washington and Mary Clouser Bear and a member of the Barnitz Methodist church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Hollenbaugh Bear; six children, J. Raymond, George A., Walter S. Bear, and Mrs. Joseph Thrush, all of Carlisle R.R.5; Clarence of Carlisle R.R.3, and Mrs. Clinton Shenk of Highspire; two brothers, Washington of Carlisle R.R.2, and Daniel of Shermansdale; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Myers of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Emma Parthmore of Penbrook; Mrs. Sara Wolf of Mt. Holly Springs, and Mrs. Mary Powley of Carlisle Star Route; 26 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
