Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 25, from the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home for Ruth Walters Reaves, who died at 6:35 p.m. Friday.
Dr. Harvey Hoffman, padtor of the First Baptist church, and the Rev. Glen Howard . Padtor of the Eastside Baptist Church officiated and burial was in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Reaves was born December 25, 1897 in Gonzales county. She was the daughter of William David and Ellen Elizabeth Baker Low. She was a member of the First Baptist Church; a long time member of the Daughters of the American Resolution, the Gonzales Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 403, member of the Sesame Club and had served for many years on the Gonzales Library Board.
She was first married to Edward Lewis Walters on December 25, 1917 in Flatonia, and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1960.
She was married on August 19, 1962, to William Benjamin Reaves,and he died on July 4, 1975.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
