Mrs. Sarah Van Arsdall Dies at Home in Hastings
Mrs. Sarah Laura Van Arsdall was born near Fort Madison, Iowa Oct. 16, 1860, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Elizabeth Clark, and passed away at her home in Hastings Jan 12, 1936, at the age of 75 years, two months and 27 days.
In early childhood she moved with her parents to Hastings. She was married to Wm. H. Van Arsdall in May, 1879. Mr. Van Arsdall passed away June 2, 1910. To this union three children were born: Maude who died in Infancy, Wm. Ernest of Los Angeles, Calif., and John Bernerd who has always lived with his mother caring for her to the end. She also leaves to mourn her passing one brother, James Clark, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Jan. 14, in Hastings Methodist Episcopal church. Interment in the Hastings cemetery.
