Services Today for Mr. Ben Gritters
Funeral services for Mr. Ben Gritters, 60, of Bellflower, California, will be held Thursday (today) at 1:00 p.m. at the Kraai Funeral Chapel and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Hull. The Rev. Alvin Ver Burg will officiate. Interment will be at Hope cemetery, Hull.
Pallbearers will be John Gritters, Gary Hulstein, Egbert Gritters, Jerry Vande Garde, Gerrit De Leeuw, and Merlin De Boer. Soloist will be Mr. John Vande Kerk and organist, Mrs. John Douma.
Mr. Gritters passed away Sunday, October 15th, at Bellflower, Calif.
The funeral services will be carried on the church radio-phone system.
Mr. Ben Gritters was bom March 4, 1901 at Perkins, Iowa, and grew to manhood in this vicinity.
He was united in marriage on February 8, 1929, to Anne De Leeuw.
To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are: Edwin of Redlands, Calif.; Gerrit; Ben, Jr.; Alice (Mrs. Don Ver Hoef), all of Bellflower, California; and Alvin and Judith, at home. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away on December 16, 1959, and by one grandchild. Also preceding him in death were his parents, one older brother and two brothers and one sister in infancy.
Brothers and sister surviving are: Ralph of Bellflower, California; Rev. Martin of Pipestone, Minnesota; Della (Mrs. Raymond Hulstein) of Edgerton, Minnesota; Herman of Chicago, Illinois and Ed of Hull.
