Mrs. Egbert (Albertje Schmidt) Gritters was born March 30, 1873, in Diever, Netherlands.

She came to this country March 29, 1896. At that time she made confession of her faith in the Lord.

March 8, 1898, she was united in marriage to Mr. Egbert Gritters at the farm home just southeast of Hull, Towa, by Rev. Greve.

To this union were born, ten children, three of whom died in infancy, and John, who passed away Julv 19, 1947. Her husband departed this life on September 4, 1937, and ever since she lived, a widow, in Hull. She died in hope and in peace May 27, 1961.

Left to mourn her departure are: Mrs. Bessie Gritters of Sioux Center, Ben, Ralph and Martin Gritters of California; Delia (Mrs. Raymond Hulstein) of Edgerton, Minnesota; Herman of Chicago and Ed. O. of Hull, Iowa. Besides, thirty-nine grandchildren and fifty-four great grandchildren.

Rev. John D. De Jong conducted a prayer service at the home and preached the Word at the Hope Christian Reformed Church of Hull. Six of her grandsons were pall bearers.
Interment was in Hope cemetery.
