Sanders (Sandevs)Grant ,45, was the fourteenth child born to the late Deacon Ezkiel "EG" Grant Sr. (d. 1972) and Mother Ardonia "DJ" Jones Grant (d. 1959). He was named after Sanders Samuel Grant (9 March 1850 – 17 December 1917), the father of Ezekiel "EG" Grant Sr.
Sanders joined the Greater Saint James Baptist Church, Mims, Florida, at an early age under the pastorage of the late Reverend James Massey.
He enlisted in the United States Army on 17th September 1943 and severed until he was honorably discharged on 27th November 1946, holding the rank of private first class.
On 9th March 1949, he united in marriage to Leola "Short" Cummings. His wife was the stepdaughter of his brother James Grant. Short's mother was James Grant's first wife, the former Ola "Dena" Watkins. Ola was related Johnnie Grant's first wife Fleta (Fleter) Hanes. The Watkins family are related to our own 1st generation Cousin Fannye Faye Johnson Robinson.
Sanders fathered three children: Cynthia, Sanders Jr., and Annie Mae Holmes-Grant.
