Andrew "Johnnie" Grant, 96, was born in North Florida 6 November 1921. He was the twelfth of twenty children born to the holy union of Deacon Ezekiel Grant, Sr. (d. 1979) and Mother Ardonia Jones Grant (d. 1959).

Johnnie received his education in Mims, Florida. He was converted at an early age and joined the Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Burney.

Johnnie met the former Fleta May Haynes (d. 1992) and they married 1945 February 28 in Hillsborough, Florida. He welcomed Fleta's daughter, Fannye Faye as his "bonus" daughter. Their marriage of 32 years ended in divorce 1977 September 28. Johnnie and Fleta May found love again and remarried 1990 November 14. Johnnie and Fleta May divorced for the 2nd time on 1991 February13.

Johnnie later met and married Rebecca Doris Harris Travis Watkins 1991 Feb 15 and they lived in Mims, Florida. They were faithful members of Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church while married. They divorced 1997 March 11.

Johnnie worked in construction. He was employed at Kennedy Space Center in janitorial services. He retired in 1977.

While living with his sister, Rose, Johnnie met and married the former Hattie Elizah Young 2000 December 12. They lived in marital bliss until Hattie passed away peacefully in 2004. After Hattie's death he lived with Hattie's daughter, Catherine Raines, in Titusville. During that period, he attended adult day care daily; he continued dancing. One of his last communications to the family was that while he didn't see very well; "I love everybody, and my body doesn't hurt."

Johnnie passed away on 25 November 2017.
