Bernice Gomez - Huerfano World - February 25, 1993 - Bernice Eleanor Gomez, 68, of Red Wing, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1993 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born Aug. 30, 1924, at Cucharas, she was reared in Toltec and went to country school. She married Theodore Gomez Apr. 25, 1943 and worked with him raising cattle and for the Bensons at Huerfano Co-op in Gardner.

She had suffered from diabetes for the past 30 years and became very ill about three months ago.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore, Red Wing; her children, Ida Abila, Colorado Springs and Theodore Gomez and Michael Gomez, Red Wing; four sisters, Della Apodoca, Pueblo, Marie Mascarenas, Commerce City, Nellie Berumen, Rocky Ford and Tina Moya, Fort Collins; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday from St. Mary Church. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Mary. Burial will be in Red Wing Cemetery.
