Daughter of Manuel Jesus & Leonides (Salazar) Gonzales. Married Silverio Castro September 14, 1914 in Walsenburg, Colorado. She was the oldes of fourteen Gonzales children.

Mrs. Marie M. Castro - Huerfano World – August 16, 1962 - Mrs. Marie Castro Funeral Conducted - Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at St. Mary Church for Mrs. Marie M. Castro, 67, of Toltec, who passed away in a Pueblo hospital last Friday. Burial was in the Cuchara Cemetery. Mrs. Castro, a member of St. Mary church, was born in Elkins, N.M. on December 12, 1894, and came to Huerfano county at an early age.

On September 14, 1914, she was married in Walsenburg to Silverio Castro.

Aside from her husband, the deceased leaves eight daughters, Mrs. John Meehan, Toltec, Mrs. Theodore Gomez, Gardner, Mrs. Gerald Berumen and Mrs. Dan Florez, both of Rocky Ford, Mrs. Dora Torres, Colorado Springs, Mrs. Walter Apodaca, Pueblo, Mrs. Joe Mascarenas, Denver, and Mrs. Conrad Moya, Fort Collins; two sons, Eloy Castro, Manzanola, and Felix Castro, Las Cruces, N.M.; six sisters, Mrs. Joe Valdez, Walsenburg, Mrs. Able Cordova, Mrs. Esperanza Roybal, Mrs. Moses Trujillo, and Mrs. Helen Valdez, all of Pueblo, and Mrs. Laura Baca, Fowler; her mother, Mrs. Leonides Gonzales, Pueblo; 41 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
