Lois had worked as a receptionist at Pioneer; in accounts receivable at Red Gold and as a payable clerk at the Tipton County Courthouse. She was a master gardener, professional landscaper and was certified in wildlife habitat. Lois loved working in her yard with her flowers and herbs. She always decorated her yard for special occasions. She had reunions each year with her nieces and nephews and has a special memorial garden in her yard in memory of her deceased family members.
Survivors besides her husband Jerry include three Brothers and three Sisters, Alfred Eugene Howery, Tipton, Indiana, Letha Mae Howery (Manlove)-(Hendershot), Muncie, Indiana, Lela Fern Howery (Holloway)-(Heilman), Onalaska, Texas, Eldon Leroy Howery, Joplin, Missouri, Linda H. Howery (Hudson), Tipton, Indiana, and David Harley Howery, Crofton, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by One Son, Brian Richard Grose, Two Sisters, Helen Marie Howery (Diedel) and Louise Christine Howery (Jones), and One Brother, Larry William Howery.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11 at the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 3021 W. St. Rd. 28, Tipton, with Rev. Doug Slack presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
