Helen Marie Diedel, 84, formerly of Garnett, Lawrence, died Monday, Sept. / 3 / 2007, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, Lawrence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett.
She was born Dec. / 29 / 1922, on a farm near Mound City to William Harley and Mabel M. (Wurtz) Howery.
She attended high school at Parker.
She married Chester Diedel Oct. / 9 / 1940. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include Sons, Raymond Diedel, Lawrence, and Glenn Diedel, Kansas City, Kansas, Daughters, Joanne Gaskill, Belton, Mo., and Janet Clingenpeel, Rolla, Mo.; Brothers, Alfred Eugene Howery, Tipton, Ind., Eldon Leroy Howery, Joplin, Mo., and David Harley Howery, Crofton, Ky.; Sisters Linda H. Howery (Hudson), Tipton, Ind., Leatha Mae Howery (Manlove)-(Hendershot), Muncie, Ind., and Lela Fern Howery (Holloway)-(Heilman), Onalaska, Texas; 12 Grandchildren; eight Great-Grandchildren; two step-Great-Grandchildren; two step Great-Great-Grandchildren and many other relatives.
She also was preceded in death by Sisters Louise Christine Howery (Jones) and, Lois Elaine Howery (Grose), Brothers, Larry William Howery and Walter Frank Howery.
