Funeral services for Mrs. Alta A. Newman, 83, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Green Lake Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Mrs. Newman died Thursday in her apartment at 4710 University Way NE.

She was born in Olympia and married Truman L. Richards in 1903. He died in 1928. In 1932 she married E. B. Newman former editor and publisher of The Daily Journal of Commerce and The Northwest Mining Journal.

The Newman later formed a partnership and published The Green Lake Reporter, The Lake City Herald and The Roosevelt Times. The business was sold in 1958 when Mr. Newman died.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Laura M. Stone, Seattle; and two sons, Truman S. Richards, Seattle, and Chester L. Richards, Los Angeles.
