Son of Isaac and Jane (Venum) Sayles.
A pioneer of the state, Oscar Sayles, died unexpectedly Wednesday on his ranch at Juanita and the remains were interred Friday in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Mr. Sayles came to this state in 1865 from Illinois and was married six years later to Miss Sarah Mills of Olympia where he first made his home. From 1889 to 1902 he lived in Ellensburg, later coming to Seattle.

He is survived by a widow and five children, George Sayles of Cle Elum, Mrs. Clarence Poland of Auburn, and Roy Sayles and Chester Sayles and Mrs. T. L. Richards of Seattle.
